According to a Rasmussen poll reported by Hot Air, "...by a 63% to 28% margin, voters continue to believe it is more important to gain control of the border than to resolve the status of those who are already in the country illegally. Democrats are more evenly divided than other voters, but a plurality (49%) agree that controlling the border is the top priority..."
Even though some newspapers would like you to think otherwise, John McCain is for border control first, but Barack Obama is not.
Sensing that this could be a major campaign issue, open-borders advocates are moving quickly to deal with it. How? - By convincing voters that the border is under control. ABC has allocated millions for the job.
Bill OReilly has already declared border victory. And you can be sure that Mr. Chertoff and the Department of Homeland Security will play their parts in this charade.
To counter the propaganda and ABCs "Border Security USA," American Border Patrol is planning with its own "Border Truth USA" DVD. "We are going to see some very slick stuff coming out of Hollywood," said Glenn Spencer of American Patrol, "and we dont expect to be able to match them." Spencer said ABPs goal is to produce a documentary that is so accurate and so bullet-proof that the major news outlets will have to really swallow their professional ethics to ignore it. "We are not going to let them off with the old "plausible deniability" claim, Spencer said.
ABP will use two years of aerial surveys of the border, including high-definition video and thousands of high-resolution photographs to show progress in fence construction, or lack of it. Added to this will be video footage, much of it very recent, of suspected border intruders (SBIs) marching into the United States, past the new border fences and barriers.
In July, ABP will fly the border from the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific Ocean to complete the most comprehensive aerial survey to date. The "Border Hawk M" will stop along the way to tape interviews of border activists and others. "We are calling this The Flight of the Border Hawk," Spencer said.
ABP plans to release "Border Truth USA" on August 21, 2008, in time for the Democratic National Convention. "The vast majority of the American People want the border controlled and they want results, not propaganda, but how will they know?" Spencer asked.
Tim Russert said, "Getting informed is the first job of a good citizen." American Border Patrol will be working to help Americans be good citizens in the coming election.
