Received an email from my friend Laura this morning, and the costs of illegal aliens and the unsecured borders is huge. Some of these reports are several years old and do not take into account the massive influx of illegals since then. Our leaders are not solving this problem and it takes you and I to be active in the policital process.

Why Are Immigrants On Welfare? Some people mistakenly think that immigrants are not eligible for welfare. Several years ago, Congress did attempt to render immigrants ineligible for most forms of welfare. However, subsequent backpedaling by Congress and the executive branch has undone most of those reforms. Furthermore, many immigrant families get welfare through the eligibility of their U.S. citizen children. (It is also important to realize that even when immigrants are ineligible for federal welfare programs, the burden of their support is simply shifted over to the state and local welfare agencies.)
 
$2.2 Billion dollars a year is spent on food assistance programs such as food stamps, WIC, and free school lunches for illegal aliens.

$2.5 Billion dollars a year is spent on Medicaid for illegal aliens.

$12 Billion dollars a year is spent on primary and secondary school education for children here illegally and they cannot speak a word of English!

$17 Billion dollars a year is spent for education for the American-born children of illegal aliens, known as anchor babies. You can just Google search this and the costs are staggering, and Congress has not acted. CNN Transcript, Related Link1, Related Link

 $3 Million Dollars a DAY is spent to incarcerate illegal aliens.
Also from CNN Transcripts from Lou Dobbs, but also some good data on FAIR, just in NY alone, the criminal alien population is costing them 270 million.  This is just the incarceration costs, not to mention the crimes themselves.

29% percent of all Federal Prison inmates are illegal aliens.

Add it up, and you can't count that far!  The only solution is to enforce existing law, and pass legislation criminalizing the hiring of illegal aliens, and the problem will solve itself.  Without Enforcement, we become lawless.
